George Stagg distilled in Spring 1975 and bottled in Autumn 1991 from barrel number 8. Aged, unfiltered and all kinds of good, with an apparent strength of 63.75% ABV, this is a massive thrash metal-esque bottling of straight-up American whiskey.

Distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery George Stagg Jr. is an unfiltered and uncut bourbon that exemplifies the big, bold flavors of bourbon pioneer George T. Stagg who established the distillery in 1869.

The oldest, strongest and rarest whiskey produced in the Buffalo Trace Distillery, our George Stagg is a rich and intense spirit. The historical bottling, originally created under the supervision of master distiller Elmer T. Lee, has been recognized by Whiskey Advocate Magazine as “Whiskey of the Year.”

The 2014 Barrel Proof (130.3) Bourbon is a release of barrels ranging from 9 to 15 years old, giving you notes of charred oak, toffee, and dark chocolate. Aromas of cocoa, molasses and toasted vanilla beans flood the senses while tastes described as “intensely concentrated” are rounded out with a delicate touch of cinnamon spice and a pleasantly long finish. Sometimes you just have to go big.
