History & Taste

Blanton’s got its name after Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, President of the Distillery from 1921 to 1952. The first commercially available single-barrel Bourbon was Blanton’s. Elmer T. Lee, a former master distiller at Buffalo Trace Distillery from 1952 to 1985, manufactures it.

The whiskey in this bottle comes from a single cask from Blanton’s Distillery in Kentucky, which has been kept for at least eight years. The flavor profile is complex, with cinnamon, caramel, toffee, and dried fruit notes. The finish is smooth, with a slight touch of oak.

As per the label, Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon spends time in American white oak casks for a minimum of seven years and a maximum of eighteen years before bottling at a proof of ninety. Each barrel is hand-picked by a Brown-Forman team member to guarantee that only exceptional barrels are used in this whiskey.

Austin, Texas, produces Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon, a bourbon whiskey made in Austin, Texas.
